Sewing

Today Z went to a sewing birthday party at Jo Anne's Fabrics

The girls each had their own sewing machines and sewed denium bags and then added embellishments.

I was really happy to see Z handling the sewing machine. It got me inspired to take out my machine and sew with her.

Here is the (mostly) finished product. She wants me to hand-sew a pocket onto it on at home.

That is so cute. She did a great job. What a fun idea for a party! Ami has been asking to learn how to sew for over a year now. I really only know how to hem and basics. My mom is wonderful seamstress, but she only taught one of my sisters. Maybe, I will have to investigate this more.

That is so awesome! K would love this. I'm going to have to check our Jo-Ann's - K might want a party like this, too. (She can add it to her list of ideas! *sigh*)

I'm very impressed. Maybe I will let Rose have a go with the sewing machine after all.

I love Z's dress. My gosh, she looks so much like you, doesn't she? Lucky kid!

Thanks Patience! I think Z looks beautiful in these pictures so it is really nice to hear you say she resembles me. *grin* But really she does look more like her Pere and paternal grandmere.

The party was a very cool idea. The only thing is that you can only invite like 8 kids to it and it might not be what some boys would consider fun.
