Monday the 3rd
The next day we took a tram up the mountain (around 8000 ft). Z was a little afraid going up but enjoyed the ride down, which was faster.
It was beautiful up there and about 40 degrees cooler. We went on a short nature walk loop.
We found out that you can camp up there so I think we are going to do that this summer.
On the drive back home we stopped at a fruit stand/market/diner called Hadley's that Pere and his family used to always stop at when he was a kid. We had ostrich burgers. (The three of us have this thing about eating exotic foods and try to eat them wherever and whenever we can.)
Can you guess what this is? Yep, an ostrich egg that Pere used to make a frittata the next morning.

The Palm Spring area is a lot of fun! You got some beautiful pictures. It looks like you had a great time.
What a coincidence about Hadley's. Since I was a kid, my family always stopped there on our way to and from California or AZ so I have instituted the same tradition with Ami.
It use to be the only building there and they use to always have samples galore. Ami read "hot" on a sign in there when she was about 19 months while we were buying some dried strawberries for her.
Yeah, apparently everyone knows Hadley's. I didn't get a chance have a date banana shake though.
Maybe. I only know of it because of where we use to live. There are some dinosaur replicas just up the road from them that have been around for years too. They have been modernized a little.

Ok Gals...considering Gracie's true identity, I think a little bag action is in order! How about getting something from there and mailing the bag?:) LOL
It looks like you guys had a good time!

Ah! Forte, I didn't think of that.
We ended up only buying an egg which they put in a box. But I think we are going back there this summer to camp so I can get a bag then.
