Last nights bedtime story

Once upon a time there was a beautiful girl named Princess Z and she woke up very early to go a special trip. She went to the airport with her mommy, The Queen, her daddy, the King and her Auntie, Grandmother and Grandfather. First they got in a plane and it was short and took them to Dallas, Texas where Princess Z ate a BBQ sandwich and sang a song about being a blueberry.

Then they took a very very long flight, it was so long that Princess Z slept for five hours on it! But the Queen and the King did not get any sleep, instead they developed a new business plan to get ad revenue on the internet.

Nine hours later Princess Z and the Royal Family arrived in beautiful Paris! There were trees and green meadows even at the airport!

First they stood in line to get off the train. Then they stood in line to get on a tram. Then they stood in line to get their passport stamped. Then they stood in line to get their luggage. Then the Queen realized that their brand new passports had not been stamped at all and she and the Princess were very sad because they had really been looking forward to getting their first stamp on their first trip. So the Queen to the Princess back to the stamping line and tried to cut in line and pointed to the sad little Princess and asked, through charades, to "s'il vous pliat" stamp their passport. The official stamper of Paris was not happy but could not send Princess Z away so she did get a stamp of the very first place she ever went to with her passport, but it was on page 11.

Then the Royal famil met their driver, who was holding up a sign with their name on it. The Royal family got into the funny little truck and zoom zoom zoomed through the airport all through Paris. The driver drove so fast, cutting here and honking there, that it was almost like being on a scary ride at a carnivale, except more real.

The Princess and the Queen looked out the window for the Eiffel Tower but they could not find it.

Then they arrived at, what would be, the Royal Family's headquarters for the next week.

They went up to the third floor, Princess Z went up in a littel glass elevator but the Queen took the stairs.

Inside there new apartment they have a big kitchen with dining table, a big living room, four bedrooms, and two bathrooms.

The family dropped off their luggage. They were all very tired. To them it seemed like one in the middle of the night but in Paris it was only ten in the morning.

So the Royal family put on their shoes and went for a walk.

They walked down Rue de la Victorie and past the old church
up to Rue des Martyrs which was a wonderful typical Parisian street. It looked just like the street looked in the travel books and Princes Z saw a Crepe shop, and a Boulangerie (bread shop), Boucheries (butchers),
, Poissonneire

Fromageries (cheese shop), fruit and vegetable stands,

and lots of other cute places including a big flea market.

Princess Z and her family ate lunch for a very long time and watched many Parisian's with dogs walk up and down Rue des Martyrs. They ate foccacia sandwiches and drank Coca Cola Light

Then they walked up, up, up to MontMartre to the very old Church Sacre Coeur

Princess Z went on a very old and beautiful two story carousel.

Then we walked up hundreds and hundreds of steps to Sacre Coeur, past many people laying out on the grass, admiring the view of the city.

At the top Princess Z and her family went into the church. There was no talking or picture taking allowed inside but Z got to see many beautiful things - stained glass windows, statures, mosacis, gold gilded painting, and a beautiful architecture.

Then Princes Z, the Queen and the King walked back to the apartment, Princess Z sang a song about with all the new French words she had learned, Bon Jour, Au Revoir, Merci, S'il Vous Plait, and Petite Mademoiselle." At the apartment they rested for five minutes before going out walking, walking, walking some more.

They walked to a quaint little pizza place around 7:30 Paris time and Z asked "Can I go to sleep" and the Queen said "No, we are going to eat dinner here." But then when the Queen looked away for 2 minutes Princess Z fell right asleep and almost off her chair. So the Queen said she could go to sleep and Z put her head down on the table. When the pizza came the Queen tried and tried to wake up the Princess but she couldn't. So after dinner the King carried Z back to the apartment.

When they tried to lay her down to bed she woke up and was hungry so she was given cookies and milk for dinner. Then they tucked her into her big soft Paris bed and told her this story and she fell to sleep.

The End.

LOL! Cute! It sounds like when we went and Gracie was 3. She fell asleep at 4 pm, and we thought she'd sleep through....she woke at 10:30 and we went to tour Eiffel. We also have a picture of Grace on the exact same two-story carousel! What a wonderful trip! Have fun!

Those are very lovely pictures. I also recall beautiful carousels in the Tuileries and in Bois de Bologne. There is just so much to see and do in Paris!
