After the performance we did the FREE arts and crafts that World City offers. First Z got her face painted in traditional Manipuir style. :)
Then Z made a butterfly puppet that she decorated with glue and colored sand. Next she made a ethnic drum annd decorated it. The we all worked on homemade stamps - I helped Z make a Z inside a heart and Pere made a Treble Clef. Lastly Z made a blue flower petal shaped cup out of clay.
She also got a FREE poster of Manipur children dressed in outfits like those in my previous pictures, including a little girl in the bell shaped skirt. And Z was able to take a picture with some of the male dancers.
We spent a lot of time doing all the crafts and meeting with the stilt walkers, who somehow know Z by name. :)
So all together for the price of gas we played in a drum circle, watched an amazing musical and dance performance, got face paint, a puppet, a homemade drum, two stamps, a clay cup, and a poster. I love L.A.!
